Thomasville-  A Thomasville man is recovering Thursday after being shot in the leg during a robbery in his own yard.  Thomasville Police were called a home on Orange Street just after 4:30 Thursday morning.

Anthony Avery told police two black men, both in dark clothing, were hiding behind his truck. When Avery left the house the two men jumped him and shot him in the leg.

"They held him against the car and asked him did he want to die by holding a gun to his head," said Lt. Ricky Singletary, Thomasville Police.

The suspects then fired again at the tires on the truck and ran off. Thomasville Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to contact police.
