Valdosta - People who help push for economic development throughout Georgia talked about their plans today in a South Georgia city they praised for its economic development plans.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development held its quarterly meeting in Valdosta. Board members and business owners from all over the state discussed economic growth throughout the state and how to keep it moving forward.

They say Valdosta is a perfect location for the meeting because city officials have worked hard to market the community and bring in new businesses.  "We were very impressed with Mayor Fretti, the Chairman of the development Authority, Chairman of the Lowndes County Board of Commissions has done, what they all have done to bring the community together," says Craig Lesser, the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

The meeting also served as an opportunity for city officials to showcase Valdosta and Lowndes County in the hopes of bringing some of their businesses to town.
