Bainbridge-  Republicans held their majority in the state Senate and added a few seats in the sate House.  Republican Representative Gene Maddox held his seat and helped his party hold control in Atlanta. 

Just 600 votes separated Maddox from Democratic challenger Stanley Mobley. Their's was a hard-fought race with negative ads targeting Maddox.  Maddox said his record helped seal his win and he's got more work to do in Atlanta.

"We've done some great, great things in education, we've got some tax issues coming up, that I'm constantly interested in and there are some other issues," said Rep. Gene Maddox. 

Maddox just completed his first term as a State Representative.
