Cairo-  A Grady County charity is teaming up with a Haitian organization to help feed hungry families.  The first three pallets of food left the Kids Against Hunger warehouse in Cairo Wednesday afternoon bound for Haiti.

Each month the charity will package these nutritional packages of food containing soybeans, rice, dehydrated vegetables and vitamins and send three pallets to the Haiti Cheri Harvest Life Ministries, but they need the community's help.

"We're looking for people who will partner with us financially but also come in to put together the packages of food because this is an aggressive commitment for such a small satellite," said Anne Horne, Kids Against Hunger.

Each pallet contains 7,128 meals worth $1,650. Each individual packet can feed six people.
