November 7, 2006

Bainbridge-  Despite cloudy skies, voters in Decatur and Grady Counties turned out to cast their ballots.

Voter traffic was heavy all morning at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum where five out of six Decatur County precincts vote. Many turned out to cast a ballot for the hotly contested House District 172 race between Incumbent Republican Gene Maddox and his Democratic challenger Stanley Mobley.

"The local Senate and Representative races are very important they represent this region to the state and it does give us a voice in Atlanta and so I think it's important that we vote our conscious on whomever we vote for," said voter, Gean Hendrix.

Voters also decided between Incumbent John Bulloch and Marjean Boyd for the State Senate District 11 race.
