November 6, 2006 Albany--If you plan to mail any holiday letters or packages to military serving overseas, you better get busy.

That's because the holiday mailing deadline is right around the corner. The US Postal Service recommends sending international mail to military as soon as possible.

Postal workers say not procrastinating will save you a headache in the long run.

"The sooner you can get here and get it mailed off, it'll relieve you of stress and you won't have to wait in line. Thanksgiving is just two weeks away so you need to think about getting those packages in the mail," says Reames Clanton with Albany's main branch post office.
