Court upholds molestation verdict

November 6, 2006

Atlanta  --  The guilt of an Albany man convicted of child molestation is upheld by the court of appeals.

Tommie Lee Clemmons was found guilty of sodomizing two young family members for more than two years. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole, and faces chemical castration once released.

Clemmons appealed saying the trial court erred in allowing hearsay testimony, but the court of appeals says the evidence against Clemmons was so overwhelming that the admission of the testimony was harmless.
