November 2, 2006

Decatur County-  A hazardous materials team from Florida was called to Decatur County Wednesday night to clean up a dangerous meth lab inside a shed.  The Decatur County Sheriff's office received a tip from DFACS that the owners of this home were manufacturing methamphetamine.

Late Wednesday afternoon, deputies searched the shed and dismantled the lab which took all night. Deputies found all the materials used to produce meth including a fire extinguisher full of suspected anhydrous ammonia.

"The quantity, we haven't weight it yet. Pretty good quantity and definitely for sale you know, not for personal use, a lot more than personal use so then definitely we'll deal with intent to distribute and all," said Sheriff Wiley Griffin, Decatur County.

Deputies arrested Frankie Chambliss, charging him with drug related charges. Police also seized this Mule and a number of weapons from the home. More arrests are expected.
