Albany - Albany's Nancy Lopez is getting ready for her annual charity golf tournament to benefit local Hospice.
This year the tournament will also feature a golf clinic for children that will be taught by the LPGA's greatest player and a few of her LPGA tour friends.
The first ever Nancy Lopez Junior Golf Clinic will be held at Albany's First Tee golf course on November 12th.
The clinic is sponsored by McGregor.
The First Tee program allows kids of all backgrounds to play golf and the program here in Albany has more 400 children learning and playing the game.
Nancy Lopez says she enjoys teaching not only the mechanics of the game but also the importance of good sportsmanship.
Nancy Lopez said "My big thing is talking about their character on the golf course. What they do when they are playing and how they act. Because that is what my dad always taught me.
Just enjoying the game and having fun with it."
Space for the Nancy Lopez junior golf clinic is limited.
You can make reservations by calling 229-888-0800.
The clinic is Sunday November 12th and the 21st Nancy Lopez Hospice Golf Classic is November 13th at Doublegate Country Club.
