Auburn -- Former Westover standout Aairon Savage picked up a big honor today, as the Auburn safety was named the SEC freshman of the week.
Savage had a team-high six tackles in the 23-17 win over Ole Miss.
The redshirt freshman also grabbed his first career interception in the third quarter, setting up an Auburn field goal.
Savage says picking up his first INT is a great feeling.
"It felt good to get my first pick," says Savage. "We've been talking about it all year, staying backside. He threw it up, and his player tipped it, and it kind of fell right into my hands."
Savage has 37 tackles so far this season, good for fourth on the team.
The Tigers host Arkansas State next week.
