Adel -- A south Georgia church is on a mission to bridge the gap between cultures.

The Queen of Peace Mission is a Catholic denomination movement with churches in four different south Georgia cities, including Adel and Nashville.

The mission brings the more than 250 families from all the churches together for an annual picnic at Reed Bingham State Park.

The church says they offer a unique worship service because mass is in both English and Spanish.

"We're reaching out to all the Catholics in the area, whether they're Anglo or Hispanic, they're black, they're Filipino. We have everybody here in our mission churches," said church member Marianne Northrup.

Church member Marianne Northrup says it's important to have mass in both English and Spanish to reach out to the fast-growing Hispanic population of south Georgia.
