Tifton - With the race for the region title and playoff berths in 1-AAAAA so tight, the kicking game just might be the difference.
Tift County kicker Charlie Edwards was a difference maker last week for the Blue Devils.
Dr. Mark Wolgin of Orthopaedic Associates presenting Charlie with this week's high school football player of the week award.
Last week against Houston County, Edwards kicked a 45 yard field goal and a 32 yarder to win the game for the Blue Devils in overtime.
Charlie also averaged more than 46 yards on four punts including one that traveled 58 yards.
Edwards said "It is nice to help the team out. Because sometimes we are looked at as not being part of the team. Not here in Tifton. They consider me part of the team."
Tift County back at home Friday night for a big showdown with Warner Robins.
