Albany -- Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint.

The robbery happened around nine last night in the 2500 block of Stuart Avenue.

Police say a black man wearing a mask and all black clothing walked into the Chevron Food Mart and held the clerk at gun point, demanding money.

Police say the clerk obliged and opened the register. The man then left the store with a large amount of cash.

A witness at the gas station pulled out a gun of his own and took some shots at the robber as he left the parking lot in a pickup truck.

Police say the suspect was driving a newer model black Dodge Ram pickup, and there may be some bullet holes in it.

Anyone with information is asked to call crimestoppers at 436-TIPS.
