Lowndes High to host Battle of the Borders

October 20, 2006

Valdosta - Preparations are underway for the Annual Winnersville Classic tonight, and the Georgia Bridgemen are hoping to play the part in a victory.

The 360-member marching band from Lowndes County High School has been preparing their elaborate show routine for three months.  The band will perform at half time at Friday's football showdown between Valdosta and Lowndes High Schools.
"It's a lot that goes into it! We have 360 members, so needless to say it takes a lot of coordination and a real dedicated staff and hard working kids to pull everything together to make for a very entertaining and fun show," says Charles Todd, Director of Bands.

Lowndes High School and the Georgia Bridgemen will host 20 marching bands from Florida and Georgia for the second annual Battle on the Border this Saturday.

They are also set to perform in Chicago's Thanksgiving Day Parade and are working on a Disney Christmas Special.
