Albany - One of the question marks for the Monroe High football team in the preseason is who would be reliable targets for junior quarterback Sherman Stephens.
Junior receiver Darryl Rowe was on the receiving end of several Stephens passes last week against Worth County.
Dr. Glenn Williams of Orthopaedic Associates presented Rowe with this week's high school football player of the week award.
Last week against Worth County, Rowe caught seven passes, two for touchdowns in what was a big bounce back win for the Tornadoes after suffering their first loss of the season to Thomas County Central in their previous game.
Darryl Rowe said "I just wanted to make plays for the team. We needed to step up coming off a tough loss."
Monroe is on the road Friday night here in Crisp County against the Cougars.
