Albany -- The Albany State football team won its fourth straight SIAC game Saturday, beating Miles 14-0.
The Rams defense and special teams led the way, and has been rewarded by the conference.
ASU Sophomore linebacker Rod Cummings is the SIAC co-defensive player of the week.
Cummings led the team with 13 tackles against Miles, including four tackles for a loss.
Junior punter Randy Allen is the special teams player of the week after launching seven punts for 279 yards in the win.
Allen averaged about 40 yards a kick, and placed more than half of them inside the twenty yard line.
Head coach Mike White says the defense and special teams were very impressive against Miles.
"It was great," says White. "Probaly our best performance in two years. Probably our best performance back to back in a while also."
The Rams have given up just 17 points in their four conference games this year.
Albany State plays Clark Atlanta for homecomming Saturday at 2pm.
