Valdosta - A man desperate to get away from Valdosta Police rammed a patrol car and sped off early today.
Around 4:00 AM, Valdosta Police spotted a dodge pick-up truck that had been reported stolen.
Officers tried to box the truck in but the driver rammed a police car and took off. The officer was not injured.
When police forced the truck down a dead end street, the driver jumped out and ran into some woods. "I can tell you right now we do have some evidence that we hope will identify the driver so hopefully we'll have this individual in custody soon," says Capt. Brian Childress of the Valdosta Police Department.
The driver faces wreckless driving and aggravated assault charges.
