Albany -- All last week the Wynnsong theater has been upgrading projection systems from old 35-millimeter reels to new digital projectors.
The installation is now complete and now the movies will run digitally. Movies and trailers are now edited and run off a hard drive and a computer system.
Manager Peter Evans says this greatly enhances a movie-goer's experience. "The color, the luster, the brightness is one major advantage compared to the old 35-millimeter. Another nice thing you won't get the little squiggles, the pops in the film, you don't have to worry about it burning through," said Evans.
The new projectors do not affect sound quality. And you don't need to worry about the hard drive crashing in the middle of a flick, there are two spare hard drives that will pick up if one ever fails.
