Thomasville Police looking for witnesses in drive-by shooting

September 27, 2006

Thomasville-  Thomasville Police are asking for the community's help in a drive by shooting just 100 yards from a community church.  Gunshots rang out on the city's west side around 8:30 Tuesday night.

The victims say an SUV approached their car and fired several shots. The shots were fired in the vicinity of Gribben and Raleigh, not far from the Westside Church of Christ. No one was injured.

"We have collected some evidence, we have collected shell casings found on the ground, a small caliber handgun was used," said Sgt. Ricky Singletary, Thomasville Police Department.

The Thomasville Police are asking for anyone with information on the shooting to contact the Police Department. Police have received conflicting information from both the victims and the suspect and plan to further question witnesses.
