Albany - Once again, an attempt to recall Albany Mayor Willie Adams faded out. On Wednesday, the deadline to turn in a second application, picked up a couple of weeks ago passed.

Robert Gilliam picked up the application 15 days ago. He had 15 days to gather 100 signatures. Had he turned in the application Wednesday, he would have then been given a petition which would have needed the signatures of 30% of the registered voters in order to call for an election.

Another application for recall against Adams was taken from the election's office in late August, but that one was not turned in either. We don't know who picked up that application.

Adams has been quoted as saying that he would "lose no sleep" worrying about the possibility of not being mayor.
