Thomasville City Schools raise taxes

September 26, 2006

Thomasville-  The Thomasville City School Board is expected to raise taxes Tuesday night.  The board held its last public hearing on the tax increase Tuesday afternoon and are expected to vote on the issue at their meeting Tuesday night.

The Board proposed a .68 mil increase, which adds up to about $25 a year for a city resident with a $100,000 home. School board members say the increase is needed to make up for a decrease in money from the state.
