No Wonder, VSU Cruises

Valdosta -- The Valdosta State football team cruised to its third win of the season Saturday, crushing Arkansas State 51-14.

Both teams went into VSU's conference opener with unblemished records, but the Blazers put up almost 500 yards of total offense in the win.

Quarterback Willie Copeland threw for 285 yards and four touchdown's to four different receivers.

Cedric Jones had seven catches for 105 yards and a score.

Eric Williams blocked a punt and Shawn Harris recovered in the endzone to give the Blazers a 16-0 lead in the 1st quarter.

Valdosta State has never lost a conference opener under head coach Chris Hatcher.

VSU returns to action Thursday when it travels to Ouachita Baptist for an 8:00 pm kickoff.
