Valdosta -- Friday, the hospital opened its news $3 million Information Technology Building and Materials Management Expansion.

The news state of the art data center will allow the hospital to continue to move records to electronic records.  

"Primary things it means for the hospital is we're positioning ourselves for the ability to install and implement clinical systems, digital imaging systems like our radiological systems and provide services to our patients."  

The hospital is also in the process tripling the size of its ER.
