Albany - The latest and greatest electronic gizmos change almost daily, so the ones sitting in your home are probably outdated. Don't know what to do with those old computer monitors, cables, cell phones and speakers? Just dump them.

Saturday, from 9 until 1 PM, Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful is hosting a free electronic recycling day, so you can make room for the newest gadgets.  Director Judy Bowles says, "There are 300 Million obsolete computers in the United States that are in storage. We're replacing them every three years, generally. There's 130 Million cell phones that are out there in a drawer somewhere."

You can bring your old electronics to the parking lot behind the Albany Civic Center. Businesses with large quantities of electronics can call Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful at 229-430-5257 to schedule a pickup. A $10 handling fee will be charged for each TV set.
