Worth County --It started as a traffic stop in Crisp County, then the driver of a stolen vehicle led officers on a high speed chase that ended in Worth County.
Troopers stopped 29-year old DeWayne Romans of Winter Park, Florida on Georgia Highway 33 north of Sylvester around seven o'clock.
Troopers believe he was driving drunk in this F-150 pickup truck that was reported stolen in Orange County, Florida.
They say he drove for miles with two blown out tires after he ran over Stop Sticks.
Finally a trooper ran Romans off the highway. The truck flipped at least two times and stopped in this yard.
"He was traveling south in the northbound lane of GA 33. That point in time he attemped to ram Trooper Massey's patrol vehicle. Trooper Massey initiated a pit manuver to take him off the roadway before he hurt someone," said Cordele GSP Post Commander SPF John Luke.
Romans was transported to Phoebe Putney Hospital and is in fair condition.
Pending charges include DUI, aggravated assault of a trooper, possession of a stolen vehicle, and many traffic violations.
