Moultrie - A fire at Sanderson Farms in Moultrie temporarily shut down the huge chicken processing facility. The plant was closed Monday due to a fire in one of the small engine rooms on Sunday.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but cleanup is underway and is expected to be finished by Tuesday. Second and Third shift employees should not report to work on Monday.
First shift employees should not report Tuesday. The work schedule will resume as normal tomorrow during second shift.
