Americus - - Three Americus businesses are on probation after police caught them selling alcohol to people under 21.

Pat's Place on South Lee Street is one of those businesses. Discount Tobacco, also on South Lee Street is another business police say sold alcohol to an underage buyer. The third business is Ramada Inn on Highway 19 South. That's where Americus Police Chief James Green says he's been having the most problems.

"We've had quite a few calls there and we were checking it and some other places that weve had complaints and calls on. Two of the locations are not two that are normally conducive to a bad environment and we haven't had any complaints on," says Poliec Chief James Green.

Americus Police officers conduct sting operations periodically to make sure businesses are following city ordinances and Georgia law.
