Segway electric scooters are being recalled.

Some 23,000  Segways are being recalled because of a risk the machine could unexpectedly apply reverse torque to its wheels, possibly causing the rider to fall.   

The company has received six reports of scooters malfunctioning and riders suffering injuries to their heads and wrists.  The recalled scooters were sold from March 2002 through mid-September 2006 for between four and five thousand dollars.   

The recall affects all Segway personal transporter i167, i170 and i180 (i series) models, the p133, XT (cross-terrain transporter) , GT (golf transporter) and i2 models, as well as all e167 (e series) models.

    A Grady County project that has been in the works since 2007 is now one step closer to being complete. The conceptual plan for the proposed aquatic center project was recently approved by the Grady County Board of Commissioners.  The plan features an eight lane swimming pool, splash pad, and fenced in play area.

    Grady County deputies are cracking down on illegal dumping. If you have big items that you need to get rid of such as a couch or a mattress, you need to be careful where you dump it, because you could face fines up to $700 dollars. "That's exactly right, it's an ugly site," said Sheriff Harry Young. Young he's had enough of the illegal dumping going on in Grady County. Encouraging his deputies to now hand out tickets instead of warnings.
