Molester convicted with quickness

September 13, 2006

Albany --  It took a jury less than 20 minutes to convict an Albany man on charges he molested his girlfriend's daughter.

Twenty-six-year-old Kedrion Scott was found guilty of rape, aggravated child molestation, and aggravated sodomy.  He was sentenced to serve two life sentences back to back for molesting the then 8-year-old girl over a period of several months.

"We're very excited that we've been able to limit the pool of potential victims to fellow inmates with the department of corrections," said Assistant District Attorney Christopher Cohilas. "This man is a predator.  He does not need to be out on the streets, he has a history of sexually abusing people in our community.  There's only one place for people like him and that's the department of corrections for the rest of his life."

Scott was sentenced to two back to back life sentences for aggravated sodomy and aggravated child molestation.
