Argument over money leads to murder

September 11, 2006

Albany -- An argument over money led to the shooting death of an Albany man Sunday morning.

Investigators say 49 year old Charles Gaillard has confessed to shooting Richard Hardwick in the head. Richard Hardwick was found dead outside a pool hall on East Broad Avenue late Saturday night.

They say Gaillard was also there and confessed that he shot him.   Lt. James Williams said "He admitted to the shooting. His indication was that they got into an argument, and he drew his weapon, fired one time, striking the victim. "

Gaillard is charged with murder, and is in the Dougherty County jail.
