Senator wants to be Lt. Governor

September 6, 2006

Cordele - - After a bitter primary battle, State Senator Casey Cagle's general election campaign for Lieutenant Governor is in full swing.

The Gainesville Republican beat Ralph Reed in July and now is going up against Democratic nominee Jim Martin.

Cagle met with voters and city leaders in Cordele this afternoon. It's one of several stops on a statewide campaign tour.

He says it's an effort to see what the people want.

"Creating more jobs, that's how people experience the American dream and also about improving education. We've got many problems that we can make. That's designing an education curriculum around each individual student," Cagle says.

Cagle has been a state senator for 12 years.
