Thomasville-  The United Way of Thomas County kicked off its 2006-2007 fundraising campaign.  They announced their goal at this year's kickoff luncheon. The hope to raise 227-thousand dollars for 19 Thomasville and Thomas County charities. 

"They go to 19 different agencies in Thomasville, Thomas County. The money stays here, we're real big on that, people donate here, we want the money to stay here to help the people here," said Rebecca Cannady, United Way Director. 

UGA sports announcer Loran Smith was the guest speaker at today's lunch and auction.
