Two arrested for robbery and beating

September 5, 2006

Albany -- An East Albany man and woman have been charged with the Thursday armed robbery and beating of a woman. But the arrested man's girlfriend says he is innocent.

25 year old Adrian Moses and 36 year old Patricia Odom are charged with armed robbery, and are being held in the Dougherty County jail without bond.

Investigators say Evelyn Naylor identified Moses and Odom as the man and woman who attacked her. Naylor told Police two men and a woman attacked her while she was cleaning in front of her home at Georgia Mobile Home Estates on Cordele Road Thursday morning.

Naylor told Police that Moses pointed a gun at her, demanding money, and that Odom hit her.

Monday Police were back at Moses' home, just a few yards from Naylor's home, looking for that third suspect.

But Moses' girlfriend, Betty Smith, says he was with her during the robbery. Smith said " I swear to God he did not do it. That man is innocent. That is not like him. Dino is not that type of person. He would not go and rob nobody."

Smith said she and four other people will testify Moses was with them, and did not rob Naylor.
