Albany -- An east Albany church is taking their message outside of the church and into the local community.

Members of the Albany Full Gospel Tabernacle carried a heavy cross out of the church doors, to give outsiders a glimpse of what Jesus had to do.

The church pastor says the cross symbolizes the way to eternal life.

Francis Brunson says she hopes those who see the members carry the cross will be compelled to come to church.

"They need to know that even in their neighborhood there's someone crying out God wants to save you," said Pastor Francis Brunson.

Members carried the cross in East Albany near the Albany Full Gospel Tabernacle located on Owens Avenue.
