The city of Albany's Community and Economic Development Department has announced a housing design and construction comepetition. Area developers and builders are being encouraged to submit innovative design focused plans for Albany's newest subdivision to be constructed at Holloway Lake near Jefferson and Newton road.
Community and Economic Development leaders want the plans to focus on neighborhood formation in a historical context.
"We would like to see homes that are compatible with the existing neighborhood in terms of large porches, community areas, fencing that brings neighbors together rather than seperates them" said department director Jennifer Clark.
Interested parties should contact the Community and Economic Development Department for minimum design expectations, submission requirements and detailed instructions. Submissions must be received by four p-m on October thirteenth 2006. The winning design will be announced November first.
