Motorcycle stamp debuts in Cairo

August 30, 2006

Cairo-  The Cairo Post Office is revving its engines over the post office's newest stamp.  The Post Office unveiled the new 'American Motorcycle' stamps.

The four stamps depict a 1918 Cleveland single cylinder motorcycle, a 1940 Indian with skirted fenders, the 1965 Harley Davidson with white wall tires, and a 1970 Chopper with short bobbed fenders.

"We have a lot of employees that drive bikes and it's near to all of our hearts, we all love motorcycles, and we want to get the community involved and any time we can do something to bring the community in to the post office, it's always a great deal," said Amy Gerleman, Cairo Post Office Customer Service Supervisor .

The stamps are now available at most post offices.
