Congressman says South Georgia understands Katrina victims
August 29, 2006
Albany -- Congressman Sanford Bishop says most South Georgians understand Hurricane Katrina victims, because so many were affected by the floods of 1994 and 1998.
On the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Bishop said South Georgians can be proud of all the work they have done for the Hurricane victims. " For the aid and the help and the assistance that organizations and individuals and families here have given to those who have suffered the losses over in the Gulf Coast area. "
Congressman Bishop said the recovery in the Gulf States has been slow, but South Georgians continue to send aid and help.
