Albany - A truck crashed into a light pole in Albany, snapping it and sending diesel fuel onto the road. It happened at the intersection of North Washington Street and 3rd Avenue around 12:30 today.

Police say the tractor trailer and a white pick up truck were both traveling North on Washington. The driver of the pickup truck moved into the left lane, and the tractor-trailer driver swerved to avoid hitting the truck. Instead, he hit a utility pole. Water, gas and light had to cut off the breakers and repair the power lines. The fire department cleaned up the diesel.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The pick-up driver was not injured and will be cited for making an improper lane change. Police are not releasing the names of the drivers at this time.
