Rain plagues NGA Hooters Tour again

August 24, 2006

Albany -  The NGA Hooters Tour moved their annual Albany tournament to the summer to avoid the weather which canceled two of their first four events at the Stonebridge Country Club.

The late afternoon summer thunderstorms struck on Thursday suspending play with about 70 players still on the course during the first round.

The first round will be completed on Friday morning and the second round will begin immediately.

Jay Woodson is the clubhouse leader after a first round 64 which is eight under par.

Jody Bellflower is one shot back in second and Thomasville's Jack Croyle is one of four players tied for third at -6.

Tifton native David Denham shot a 72 and Stonebridge pro Rob Allen and Cordele's Brad Hunter were on the course when play was suspended.
