Albany -- Finally, south Georgia fields are getting the regular rain crops desparately need.

Some Baker County farmers say they've gotten good rain for more than two straight weeks now. Many haven't had to use irrigation systems because of the wet weather. But they've already put a lot of extra money into their crops by depending on irrigation to get them through the dry months."We'd already put a lot of money into it, as far as irrigation goes, but it's really helped with cutting costs at the end of the year," said Baker County farmer Matt Bryan.

Farmers say August is an especially important time. Crops, especially peanuts, really need rain now because harvest time isn't too far off.
