Valdosta -- Dr. James Shrader was named the new head of music at VSU. Shrader comes to Valdosta after 11 years in the music department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
He hopes his involvement will help integrated the music program with the community. "I want to not hide our light under a bushel," Shrader said. "I want us to take our program to the community and let the community and surrounding regions know what a gem they have at the music department here at Valdosta State University."
Shrader is also training to get involved with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra next year.
