Louisville, Ky. - Former Cook High standout Jazz Covington has been been named to the watch list for the prestigious Wade Trophy player of the year award in women's college basketball for the upcoming season.
Covington, who will be a senior at the University of Louisville, is one of 25 players selected for the watch list.
The selection is based on more than just statistics.
Leadership and character are other areas that are considered for this award named in memory of Lily Margaret Wade who led Delta State to three national championships.
Jazz Covington was a first team all-Big East selection as a junior when she averaged 14 points and seven rebounds a game.
The Wade Trophy winner will be announced during the Women's Final Four in early April.
