Lee County--The Parks at Chehaw wants Lee County leaders to allow it to continue serving alcohol during special events. Chehaw often hosts charity and private events during which alcohol is served. The park has always gotten a temporary permit from the city of Albany for each event. But it turns out, the area of the park where the alcohol is served is actually in Lee County. Lee County doesn't issue temporary alcohol permits. The Park doesn't want to pay for an annual license since alcohol is only served during special events. Park managers plan to ask county commissioners to issue a license and waive the fee.
