Lowndes County - Six South Georgia teenagers were involved in two separate crashes on the same road, and troopers say alcohol was a factor in both wrecks.

Five teens were in a Chevrolet Tahoe on Lock Laurel Road in Lowndes County early Sunday morning.  The vehicle hit a curb, struck a tree, and overturned.

Two of the passengers were ejected and taken to South Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries. The three other passengers were not seriously injured.  DUI charges are pending.

Just down the road, another teenager fell asleep at the wheel of his Dodge pick-up truck.  He ran into a telephone pole and the truck overturned three times.  He was not injured and was charged with driving under the influence.

The Georgia State Patrol will not release the names of those involved due to their ages.
