Leesburg-- A 23 year old man who police believe stabbed a Lee County teenager to death made his first appearance in court today.

Allen Williams stood next to his attorney as Magistrate Court Judge Jim Thurman read the charges against him. Williams is accused of killing 18 year old Jontavious Seay Wednesday night.

He's charged with two counts of cruelty to children, murder, and possession of tools to commit a crime. Judge Thurman did not set a bond for Williams. Williams remains in the Lee County Jail.

We have more information about what happened at that Lee County mobile home park where Jontavious Seay was stabbed. Investigators tell us the stabbing happened when Seay showed up at an ex-girlfriend's house.

Investigators say Jontavious Seay showed up to visit his ex-girlfriend, Christina Eason Wednesday night. When he refused to leave, 23-year old Allen Williams stepped in.

"There were actually two small children in the residence at the time of the stabbing," says Col. Duane Sapp.

And Investigators say with children present, Williams stabbed Seay.

"Placing children in situations like that where its so stressful on them that it will be something that follows them for the rest of their life, is against the law," Sapp says.

That's why, in addition to murder, Williams faces 2 counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.

"That puts children in the position of having to deal with this hugely stressful, traumatic event in their life that they didn't have any control over whether it occurred or not."

The children remain in the custody of their mother. Allen Williams remains in the Lee County jail with no bond.

Allen Williams, who says he only completed eight years of school, was just released from prison earlier this year.
