Albany -- The Republican nominee for Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture says illegal immigration is the number one problem facing the industry.

Gary Black said hs opposes illegal immigration and amnesty for agricultural workers, but he knows farmers rely on workers from other countries during peak seasons.

Black said the Ag Commissioner must lead the way to set a clear policy for farmers and migrant workers. Republican Commissioner of Agriculture Candidate Gary Black said "We must work hand in hand to get a legal, documented work force that comes here, performs their task, pays their taxes, and is responsible, then returns home."

Black won the Republican nomination in last week's runoff election. He now opposes forty year incumbent Tommy Irvin in November.
