Valdosta - Whether or not to sell liquor on Sunday's has been a hot topic in Valdosta since the issue came up a decade ago.  Tonight, the City Council will vote on putting a referendum on the November ballot.

If approved, the referendum would allow Valdosta residents to vote on allowing establishments with liquor licenses to serve alcohol on Sundays.

Tim Carroll will represent the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce at the meeting to present the council with this Support letter.
"During the discussion phase our Chamber board meeting back in April, there were several board members who came out saying he would vote against it in the ballot. But they all believe, unanimously, that each of us deserve that opportunity," said Chamber Board Chairman Tim Carroll.

Restaurants would only be allowed to sell liquor between 12:30 PM and midnight.  This would not allow liquor sales in Grocery stores and convenient stores on Sunday.
