Coffee County - -  Sheriff's Deputies are investigating leads about a weekend shooting that sent five Hispanic men to the hospital.

It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday off of Kingwood Road. The men said they were at a party when they saw 3 or 4 people coming at them shooting.

That's when they took off running. Police believe the shooters were 40 to 50 yards away when they shot the men, sending them to Coffee Regional Medical Center.

"Approximately 5 hispanics checked in with what appeared to be gunshot shot gun blasts to the upper torsos and facial and neck areas. From the size of the injuries and the pellets we did recover, it appeared to be 7 and half to 8 bird shots," says Detective Bob Franklin.

One of the men was shot in the eye. He had to be taken to a Savannah hospital to have the pellet removed.

Detective Franklin says there's no evidence right now to prove this is a hate crime.
