Thomas Co. Humane Society overcrowded

August 9, 2006

Thomas County-  More pets being dropped off than adopted has the Thomasville- Thomas County Humane Society offering special adoption rates.  Right now, there are close to 500 animals at the shelter. The Humane Society has cut ten dollars off the price of it's animals in an effort to find them a good home.

"Obviously we want good homes for our pets and we want to make sure that we have the right match. So, even though we're offering an incentive we want people to be very cautious about not jumping into this," said Carol Jones, Executive Director.

Through Saturday dogs are just $65 and cats $55. If the animal is already spayed it's $40. The Humane Society encourages pet owners to have their pet spayed or neutered.
