Thomasville-  Is south Georgia prepared for a flu pandemic?

Civic organizations, health care workers and others gathered in Thomasville Wednesday to answer that question. The event hosted by the Southwest Public Health District was to get the community started on a plan to handle the possibility of a pandemic like Avian influenza.

"This is the first step there should be many more meetings after this, but this was just to get the dialogue started," said Dr. Jacqueline Grant, Southwest Public Health Director.

Wednesday Public Health officials provided organizations with checklists of flu related issues and discussed prevention methods.
